Anu Prabhakar, an actress who recently celebrated 25 years in the industry, reflects on reaching this significant milestone. Recalling the moment when she realized the passage of time since her debut in "Hrudaya Hrudaya" on September 16, Anu shares that the realization was a momentous one that kept her awake with a flood of memories. She reminisces about her early days on set, revealing that it was during the filming of "Hrudaya Hrudaya" that she discovered her passion for acting. Anu also expresses gratitude for the enduring love and support from Kannadigas, who still hold a special place for her as a Kannada actress. Furthermore, she comments on the evolution of Kannada cinema over the years, citing advancements in technology that have transformed the filmmaking process. In this digital age, I do miss the sense of camaraderie on sets from the past. Nowadays, I notice that people on set are more distant. In the past, the set felt like a large family and I remember enjoying lunch breaks together under a tree at the shoot location. Instead of personal caravans, even Shivarajkumar himself would serve food to everyone. There used to be a clear distinction between commercial and parallel cinema. Some films were specifically geared towards winning awards. Nowadays, we see a shift where realistic films also become successful commercially. This change brings me joy as it means effort is put into all types of films. The love and support I have received and continue to receive is truly remarkable. It is a great blessing to be remembered for the roles I have portrayed.

Anu Prabhakar expresses her desire for more substantial roles for women in films. She admires the performances of veteran actresses such as Bharathi, Aarthi, Leelavati, and Manjula, who were offered challenging roles in their time. She hopes for a return to stronger female characters in cinema, beyond just glamorous portrayals. Anu credits the filmmakers who provided her with roles that allowed her to showcase her talent, leading to more opportunities. She is conscious of avoiding roles that do not match her age in order to avoid being typecast.

Anu acknowledges her husband Raghu as her biggest supporter. The only time she took a break from work was when her daughter Nandana was born, but Raghu encouraged her to return to acting as he understands her passion for it.He is a true companion in the world of art. We coordinate our schedules as parents to always have one of us available for Nandana. In addition, we are fortunate to have the unwavering support of both of our mothers, who bring us peace as we raise our daughter.
